The government of Uttar Pradesh has reaffirmed its commitment to providing quality healthcare services following inspections by key officials. During a visit to the Barabanki District Hospital and Chinhat Community Health Centre on September 28, 2023, Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak emphasized the importance of treating every patient who seeks care.

Pathak, who also oversees health services, engaged with patients and their families to gather feedback on the facilities and services offered. He stated, “Healthy women and empowered families is the goal of our government. Medical officers have been instructed to provide treatment to every patient coming to the hospital.” His remarks underscore the administration’s aim to enhance healthcare access across the state.

Inspection Highlights and Directives

Pathak’s visit coincided with the ongoing nationwide Seva Pakhwada, a campaign from September 17 to October 2, celebrating Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 75th birthday. His inspection included directives to improve cleanliness and address maintenance issues at the hospital. He instructed staff to ensure that no patient leaves without receiving the necessary treatment and reassured the public that there is no shortage of medicines available.

Additionally, Pathak stressed the need for ongoing improvements in hospital management, calling for a focus on hygiene and operational efficiency. “There is no shortage of medicines, and no patient leaves the hospital without treatment,” he reiterated during his visit.

Monthly Grievance Meetings and Health Initiatives

In a related initiative, Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya has called for monthly grievance meetings to address the concerns of local residents. During a review meeting held in Bahraich, he directed district administration officials to collaborate with public representatives to tackle issues faced by the community.

Maurya also urged the chief medical officer to initiate a cleanliness drive across all Community Health Centres (CHCs), Primary Health Centres (PHCs), and health facilities. He stated that measures should be taken against any officials neglecting cleanliness responsibilities. “A special monthly clean-up campaign should be conducted in all offices,” he added.

Further emphasizing the need for accessible healthcare, Maurya instructed officials to ensure that standard medical facilities are available to all holders of the Ayushman card. He highlighted the importance of ensuring that patients and their families have access to necessary resources within hospitals. Additionally, he called for a consistent power supply according to the prescribed roster, particularly in areas affected by wildlife.

Maurya also addressed agricultural issues, advocating for the registration of undisputed inheritance cases to facilitate access to the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi benefits. He emphasized the critical need for adequate fertilizer supplies in the district and warned of strict action against hoarding and overcharging practices.

The proactive steps taken by both Pathak and Maurya reflect the Uttar Pradesh government’s focus on improving healthcare delivery and addressing community needs. Their efforts aim to create a more efficient and responsive healthcare system, ensuring that all residents receive the support they require.
