Toll Tax Increases on Delhi-Mathura Highway from September 1
The toll tax for the Sarai Toll Plaza on the Delhi-Mathura Highway will increase starting September 1, 2025. The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) announced the new toll rates, which include a modest rise for multiple crossings while keeping one-time toll fees for certain vehicles unchanged.
According to the revised toll structure, vehicles such as cars, vans, and jeeps will continue to pay the same rate for a single crossing. However, for those making multiple crossings, an additional charge of one rupee will be applied. This adjustment follows the annual review of toll rates typically conducted by the NHAI in September.
Details of the New Toll Rates
The updated toll rates are as follows:
– **Cars, Vans, Jeeps**:
– One-time: ₹355
– Multiple crossings: ₹310
– Monthly pass: ₹60
– **Light Commercial Vehicles**:

– Multiple crossings: ₹800
– Monthly pass: ₹1,590
– **Heavy Vehicles (Trucks and Buses)**:
– One-time: ₹1,061

– Monthly pass: ₹1,181
For comparison, the previous rates were as follows:

– Monthly pass: ₹44
– **Light Commercial Vehicles**:
– One-time: ₹527
– Multiple crossings: ₹800
– Monthly pass: ₹1,567
– **Heavy Vehicles (Trucks and Buses)**:

– Multiple crossings: ₹5,731

Annual Rate Adjustments
The toll rates at Sarai Toll Plaza, located on the boundary of Faridabad and close to Delhi, are typically reviewed every September. While last year’s rates remained static, the upcoming adjustments reflect the NHAI’s ongoing assessment of toll structures.
Dheeraj Singh, Project Director at NHAI, confirmed the rate revisions, emphasizing that the changes will come into effect at midnight on August 31, 2025.
As the Delhi-Mathura Highway is a vital route for commuters and freight transport, the increase in toll rates may impact travel budgets for frequent users. The NHAI encourages drivers to consider these adjustments when planning their journeys.
In conclusion, while the one-time toll rates for personal vehicles remain stable, the incremental charge for repeated crossings signals a shift in the NHAI’s approach to managing traffic and revenue along this busy corridor.
