Agriculture Officials Distribute Seized Urea Bags to Farmers

In a significant move to assist farmers during the crucial agricultural season, officials from the Agriculture Department in Nagarkurnool district distributed 230 urea bags that had been seized from the Arunodaya Fertilizer Shop in Peddakothapally. On Saturday, these bags were made available to local farmers at the government-fixed rate of Rs 267 per bag, a price aimed at shielding them from inflated black-market costs.
The decision to redirect the seized urea came after authorities identified irregularities at the fertilizer shop. Officials acted swiftly to ensure that the stock was handed over to farmers in need, thereby preventing potential disruptions in crop cultivation. This proactive measure was welcomed by local farmers, who expressed relief at receiving timely supplies of urea, essential for their agricultural activities.
Ensuring Fair Access to Fertilizers
Agriculture authorities have indicated that they will maintain strict vigilance across the district to combat illegal hoarding and black marketing of fertilizers. They emphasized the importance of ensuring that farmers have fair access to necessary agricultural inputs at regulated prices. Officials warned that stringent actions would be taken against any traders found engaging in malpractice.
In addition to addressing immediate concerns, the Agriculture Department reassured farmers that adequate stocks of fertilizers are available to meet ongoing demand. This commitment aims to bolster confidence among cultivators, particularly during this vital period of crop production.
The distribution of the seized urea bags highlights the Agriculture Department’s dedication to supporting local farmers and maintaining the integrity of agricultural practices in the region. As the season progresses, continuous monitoring will be crucial to ensure that farmers can operate without the burden of unjust pricing.
