Central Railway Launches Special Trains for Ganesh Festival 2025

The Central Railway has announced the operation of special trains for the Ganesh festival in 2025, connecting Mumbai with popular destinations in the Konkan region. From August 22 to August 31, travelers can access two daily services from the Lokmanya Tilak Terminus (LTT) to both Sawantwadi and Madgaon, catering to the increased demand during this festive period.
Train No. 01167 will depart LTT at 21:00 and arrive in Sawantwadi at 09:20 the following day, while Train No. 01171 is set to leave LTT at 08:20 and reach Sawantwadi by 21:00. Each of these trains will be equipped with six general coaches, providing ample seating for passengers.
In addition to the daily services, the Central Railway has scheduled extra trains specifically for the festival. On August 25, Train No. 01003 will depart LTT at 08:30 for Madgaon, featuring four general coaches. Following this, Train No. 01129 will leave LTT at 08:45 on August 26 for Sawantwadi, also composed of six general coaches.
For those preferring overnight travel, two special overnight trains to Madgaon will be available. Train No. 01165, a fully air-conditioned service, is scheduled to leave LTT at 00:45 on August 26. Another option, Train No. 01185, will depart the station at the same time on August 27, with four general coaches.
Further enhancing accessibility, Train No. 01131 will run on August 28 and 31, departing LTT at 08:45 and reaching Sawantwadi by 22:20. These special trains will make stops at key locations along the route, including Thane, Panvel, Pen, Roha, Chiplun, Ratnagiri, Kankavli, and Kudal, ensuring essential connectivity for travelers heading to the Konkan belt during the festival.
This initiative by the Central Railway aims to facilitate smooth travel for those participating in the celebrations, reflecting the organization’s commitment to enhancing passenger services during peak travel seasons.
