Shailesh Jejurikar Appointed New CEO of Procter & Gamble Starting January 2026

Procter & Gamble (P&G) has announced the appointment of Shailesh Jejurikar as its next Chief Executive Officer, effective January 1, 2026. Jejurikar, who has been with the company since 1989, will succeed Jon Moeller in this leadership role. This transition reflects P&G’s ongoing commitment to strategic leadership as it navigates the competitive landscape of the fast-moving consumer goods sector.
Jejurikar, 58, currently serves as the Chief Operating Officer of P&G, a position he has held for over six years. His extensive experience includes significant contributions to the development of core business segments such as global Fabric Care and Home Care across various regions, including North America, Europe, Asia, and Latin America. He also played a pivotal role in shaping the company’s strategies related to Supply Chain, Information Technology, and Global Business Services. In addition to his responsibilities at P&G, Jejurikar is a board member of Otis Elevator Co., a leading manufacturer of vertical transportation systems.
P&G’s announcement included plans for Jejurikar’s nomination as a Director at the annual shareholder meeting scheduled for October 2025. The board’s confidence in Jejurikar reflects his proven track record and leadership capabilities within the organization.
Jejurikar Joins Elite Ranks of India-Born Executives
Jejurikar is the latest addition to a growing list of India-born executives leading major global companies. His appointment comes on the heels of Sabih Khan‘s recent elevation to Chief Operating Officer at Apple, marking another milestone for Indian professionals in the C-suite of multinational corporations. This trend is exemplified by notable figures such as Satya Nadella, CEO of Microsoft, and Sundar Pichai, CEO of Google and its parent company, Alphabet.
The increasing presence of Indian leaders in top corporate roles is a testament to the global influence of professionals from the region. Other prominent figures include Indra Nooyi, who led PepsiCo for 12 years, and Harish Manwani, the first Chief Operating Officer of Unilever.
As P&G continues to execute its vision for growth, Jejurikar’s leadership will be integral in steering the company towards new opportunities and innovations. His wealth of experience and understanding of the global market dynamics position him well for this pivotal role.
In addition to his professional accomplishments, Jejurikar is an alumnus of IIM Lucknow, showcasing the educational foundation that has supported his successful career in the consumer goods industry. As P&G prepares for this transition, stakeholders and employees alike are optimistic about the continuity of leadership and strategic direction under Jejurikar’s guidance.
The announcement reflects P&G’s strategic planning for the future, ensuring that the company remains a leader in the competitive FMCG sector. As the company looks ahead, all eyes will be on Jejurikar as he assumes the helm in 2026, leading P&G into its next chapter.
