Former Minister Jogi Ramesh’s Home Attacked in Ibrahimpatnam

The house of former Andhra Pradesh minister and YSRCP leader Jogi Ramesh was reportedly vandalised and set ablaze in Ibrahimpatnam, located in the NTR district, on Sunday. This incident occurred shortly after the party accused unknown individuals of attempting to murder senior YSRCP leader Ambati Rambabu.

Footage broadcasted on regional news channels depicted a chaotic scene, with numerous individuals storming Ramesh’s residence, causing extensive damage and igniting portions of the structure. Local police confirmed the vandalism, with Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) for the West Zone, Durga Rao, stating that no arrests have been made thus far.

Political Tensions Escalate

The YSR Congress Party (YSRCP), led by Chief Minister Y. S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, expressed concerns over the escalation of violence, claiming the incident has instilled fear among local residents. Party officials reported significant damage to household items and described the scene as one of devastation.

The YSRCP further alleged that Ramesh, a notable leader within the backward classes, was intentionally targeted in what they view as a systematic campaign of political intimidation against opposition figures. They highlighted the connection between this incident and the recent attack on another prominent party member, interpreting it as a troubling trend in the state’s political landscape.

In response to the unrest, police are reportedly working to restore order in the area. ACP Durga Rao noted that officers are actively monitoring the situation and engaging with community members to address their concerns.
