NUkler Proposes €600 Million Nuclear Plant in Telangana

Hyderabad is set to explore a significant advancement in clean energy with NUkler Products’ recent submission of an expression of interest (EOI) for a Small Modular Reactor (SMR)-based nuclear power plant. This project, with a proposed capacity of up to 300 MW, is estimated to require an investment of €600 million (approximately Rs 6,000 crore). The initiative was presented during a meeting with Telangana’s Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy and the ‘Telangana Rising’ delegation at the World Economic Forum in Davos on March 15, 2024.

The delegation included notable figures such as Dr. Jan Babic, group chairman of IQ Capital; Anil Kumar Bavissetty, group CEO and director of IQ Capital; and Molugu Sripal Reddy, CEO and director of Green House Enviro. Their presence underscored the project’s potential impact on the region’s energy landscape. Additionally, Matus Gemes, honorary consul of the Slovak Republic to the Principality of Liechtenstein, participated in the discussions.

Telangana’s government has expressed a strong commitment to fostering sustainable energy initiatives. Chief Minister Reddy emphasized that “sustainability is a central pillar to Telangana’s pursuit of a Net-Zero development target by 2047.” This initiative aligns with the state’s broader strategy to enhance its clean energy infrastructure and reduce carbon emissions.
