Last-Minute Cancellation of Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon 2 Re-release Shocks Fans
Fans eagerly anticipating the re-release of the comedy film Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon 2 on January 9, 2025, were left disappointed when the event was abruptly cancelled. The film, which stars popular comedian Kapil Sharma, was initially slated to screen in approximately 500 theatres. However, logistical challenges led to a significant reduction in available venues, prompting the decision to pull the film from the schedule.
According to sources cited by Bollywood Hungama, the studio partner and distributor, Star Studio18, could secure only between 200 and 250 screens. Many of these showings were scheduled at inconvenient times, which did not meet the expectations of the producers, Venus. As a result, the team decided on the evening of January 8, 2025, to cancel the re-release altogether.
Originally launched on December 12, 2024, Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon 2 struggled to gain traction in cinemas due to the strong competition from films such as Dhurandhar and Avatar: Fire and Ash. The producers initially aimed to re-release the film to take advantage of a quieter screening period, but the failure to secure adequate screens led to this last-minute cancellation.
An industry expert commented on the situation, expressing hope that the film would find an opportunity for a re-release at a later date, given its positive reception. “The film has genuinely been loved and is one of the rare comedies of recent times that raised lots of laughs in cinemas,” the expert noted.
Directed by Anukalp Goswami, Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon 2 revolves around a man whose plans to marry his girlfriend take a complicated turn when he ends up marrying three women instead, leading to humorous and chaotic situations. The film features an ensemble cast that includes Manjot Singh, Hira Warina, Tridha Choudhary, Parul Gulati, and the late Asrani.
As the entertainment industry reflects on the implications of this cancellation, fans are left hoping for a successful future screening of a film that has resonated with audiences.
