Sudha Chandran Responds to Trolls Over Jagran Video Controversy
Actor Sudha Chandran has addressed the backlash following her appearance in videos from a recent jagran, affirming that her spiritual beliefs are personal and not subject to public scrutiny. The videos, which circulated widely on social media, depicted her in an emotionally intense state during the devotional gathering, prompting a wave of criticism online. Many users questioned the authenticity of her emotional display, branding it as exaggerated or staged.
Sudha Chandran’s Strong Response
In an interview with Zoom on January 6, 2024, Chandran emphasized that she does not feel compelled to justify her faith to anyone. “I am not here to justify. I have my perception towards life. I have certain connections that I respect. Mujhe logon se koi lena dena nahi hai. Joh troll karte hai, acchi baat hai, khush rahe apne zindagi mein,” she stated. Her focus, she added, is on the millions who resonated with her experience, rather than the opinions of her detractors.
Chandran highlighted her independence and commitment to living life on her own terms, stating that she has always prioritized dignity and self-respect. Reflecting on her past, she recalled facing judgment after her life-altering accident, yet she noted that time and success have silenced her critics. “In my life, I have never thought about log kya bolenge. Even after my accident, people questioned my choices. But when it becomes a success story, those same people talk only about that,” she said.
The Controversy Unfolds
The controversy surrounding Chandran intensified earlier this week when multiple clips from the jagran surfaced online. The footage showed her in a trance-like state, energetically moving around the hall during the bhajan. Some attendees appeared to attempt to restrain her, with a few clips capturing moments where she bit those trying to intervene. Dressed in a red and white saree, she wore a ‘Jai Mata Di’ headband, further emphasizing her spiritual engagement.
In terms of her career, Sudha Chandran has recently garnered acclaim for her role as Yamini Raheja in the first two seasons of the television series Naagin. Her extensive career includes appearances in popular shows such as Yeh Hai Mohabbatein, Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, and Mata Ki Chowki, Kalyug Mein Bhakti Ki Shakti.
Chandran’s response to the trolls reflects a broader conversation about the intersection of faith, public perception, and the personal experiences of public figures. As she continues to navigate her career and personal beliefs, her resilience in the face of criticism remains evident.
