Three remarkable young individuals have been recognized for their outstanding contributions during the prestigious Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar ceremony held on January 27, 2023, at Vigyan Bhavan in New Delhi. Among the honorees is Shravan Singh, a ten-year-old boy from the Mamdot area of Ferozepur district, who displayed exceptional bravery during Operation Sindoor.
During this operation, Shravan selflessly provided essential supplies, including milk and water, to soldiers stationed near his home. His actions have become a symbol of compassion and community spirit. While receiving his award, Shravan expressed his aspiration to serve in the military, stating, “I want to become a soldier and serve my country.”
At the ceremony, Shravan and the other awardees had the opportunity to meet with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who commended their courage and commitment. Following the operation, Shravan gained the admiration of army officers, who have since taken a personal interest in supporting his education and development.
Recognition for Courage and Resilience
In addition to Shravan, the awards were bestowed upon Vansh Tayal, a 17-year-old from Chandigarh, and Jyoti, also 17, from Sirsa district of Haryana. Vansh, who has demonstrated exceptional leadership and caregiving skills at the Children Home for Boys at Snehalaya, faced personal tragedy with the loss of both parents to illness in 2021.
