College Friendships Evolve into Deadly Gang Rivalries
In a chilling transformation from camaraderie to hostility, friendships forged in the halls of DAV College in Chandigarh have culminated in a violent gang rivalry. The case of Lawrence Bishnoi, Goldy Brar, and Inderpreet, also known as Parry, illustrates how youthful ambitions can devolve into a dangerous world of crime.
Inderpreet was once a trusted confidant of Lawrence Bishnoi. Their bond began in 2010 when they were both students at DAV College, deeply involved in student politics and associated with the Student Organisation of Punjab University (SOPU). The duo, along with their friends, built a close-knit circle, often meeting at Parry’s home. Their shared experiences, however, took a dark turn on June 28, 2011, when they, along with associates, broke into a residence in Sector 40, Chandigarh. The violent incident resulted in their arrest and marked the beginning of their descent into criminality.
Over the years, Parry became a prominent figure in Bishnoi’s gang, and their friendship seemed unbreakable. Yet, tensions began to surface, primarily due to conflict with the rival gang led by Goldy Brar. The rivalry escalated dramatically following the assassination of Jora Sidhu, also known as Sippa, a close associate of Bishnoi, who was killed last month in Dubai. The Brar gang claimed responsibility for the hit, igniting a fierce backlash from Bishnoi, who was infuriated by the attack on his ally.
Amidst this turmoil, suspicions arose regarding Parry’s loyalty. The Bishnoi gang believed that he was involved in extorting money on behalf of the Brar gang from club owners in Chandigarh, failing to share the profits with them. As the insecurity within the gang grew, so did their resolve to eliminate perceived threats. Parry’s recent marriage just 15 days prior to his murder indicated he was seeking a fresh start, distancing himself from the violent underworld.
The assassination of Parry serves as a grim testament to the consequences of loyalty gone awry. With the escalating violence, the Brar gang released an audio recording threatening retaliation against the Bishnoi faction. This chilling warning underscores the depths of the feud and the lengths to which these gangs are willing to go to assert their dominance.
As this tragic saga unfolds, it reveals not only the harsh realities of gang life but also the personal toll such rivalries take on those involved. What began as youthful aspirations and friendships has devolved into a lethal game of power and survival, leaving families shattered and communities on edge.
