AIIMS Launches International Conference on Musculoskeletal Techniques
The All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) opened its second international conference on Image-Guided Cadaveric Hands-on Musculoskeletal Interventions on Saturday, March 15, 2024, in Mangalagiri, located in Guntur district. The event aims to enhance skills in musculoskeletal interventions through both theoretical and practical training, bringing together experts and delegates from around the globe.
Collaboration and Participation
The conference was inaugurated by Prof. Ahanthem Santa Singh, the executive director of AIIMS. This significant event is being jointly organized by the departments of radiology and anatomy, in collaboration with the Musculoskeletal Society of India and the Asian Pacific International Radiology and Intervention Association. More than 100 delegates representing seven countries are participating, alongside faculty experts from India and five other nations.
Participants will engage in a comprehensive program that includes live demonstrations, cadaveric hands-on training, and structured modules. The focus areas encompass advanced techniques for musculoskeletal interventions involving the shoulder, elbow, wrist, hand, hip, knee, ankle, foot, and peripheral nerves.
Hands-On Learning Experience
The format of the conference is designed to foster an interactive learning environment. Delegates will benefit from real-time demonstrations that illustrate complex procedures, allowing for immediate application of learned techniques. This hands-on approach is critical for enhancing the practical skills of healthcare professionals involved in musculoskeletal medicine.
Through this conference, AIIMS aims to position itself at the forefront of medical education and innovation in the field of musculoskeletal interventions. The gathering of international experts not only promotes knowledge sharing but also strengthens collaborations across borders, paving the way for advancements in patient care and treatment methodologies.
With a growing emphasis on the importance of practical training in medical curricula, this event highlights AIIMS’s commitment to providing high-quality education and resources to healthcare professionals worldwide.
