The Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) has officially extended the completion deadline for the Shree Sheetla Mata Devi Medical College and Hospital in Gurugram to March 2026. This announcement was made by GMDA officials on Friday, pushing the original deadline of December 2025 further into the future.

According to a senior GMDA official, the project is in its final stages, with the contractor reporting that 78 percent of the work has been completed. The hospital, located in Sector 102A, is a significant development aimed at enhancing healthcare facilities in the region.

Progress and Future Plans

The GMDA has also issued a tender worth ₹5.30 crore for the installation of non-medical equipment in the hospital, with the tender opening scheduled for November 7. The main hospital block has made substantial progress, with all slabs and structural work completed. Currently, finishing activities such as plastering, flooring, tiling, and structural glazing are underway.

Electrical and HVAC installations are at an advanced stage, with components such as chilled water piping, ducting, air handling unit (AHU) installation, and firefighting systems reported to be over 85–90 percent complete. In addition, the academic block—which will house lecture halls, laboratories, and administrative offices—is also nearing completion to support medical education.

Infrastructure Development

GMDA officials stated that civil works and plastering of hostels and residential buildings have reached the top floor. The structural work for hostels designated for undergraduates and interns is complete, with plastering and finishing activities currently in progress. Electrical and mechanical installations are reported to be between 60–70 percent complete.

Moreover, major external development works are progressing, including stormwater drainage, sewer lines, internal roads, water supply networks, sewage treatment plants (STP), trenching, kerb stones, pathways, horticulture, and lighting installations. This comprehensive infrastructure effort is expected to significantly improve the local healthcare landscape once the project is completed.

The GMDA’s commitment to this project highlights its aim to enhance medical education and healthcare facilities in the region, ultimately benefiting the community at large.
