Raksha Khadse Leads Unity Marches in Maharashtra for Patel’s Legacy
Union Minister of State for Youth Affairs and Sports, Raksha Nikhil Khadse, led a series of ‘Ekta Yatras’ (Unity Marches) in Maharashtra’s Malkapur and Bhusawal on October 31, 2023, commemorating the 150th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. These marches witnessed significant participation from youth, students, and volunteers, emphasizing the themes of national unity and the vision of ‘Viksit Bharat’.
The events were part of the nationwide Sardar@150 campaign initiated by the My Bharat platform, a project of the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports. Khadse’s leadership during these marches showcased the enthusiasm of the younger generation in celebrating Patel’s legacy and contributing to the spirit of civic engagement.
Celebrating National Unity Through Participation
The initial march commenced in Malkapur, attracting a large crowd of local residents, students, and dedicated volunteers. Dignitaries present at the event included Eknath Khadse, Member of the Legislative Council, and Chansukh Madanlal Sancheti, MLA for Malkapur, among others. Addressing the enthusiastic audience, Khadse remarked on Patel’s vision for a united India, stating, “The India we are proud of today stands as the result of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s unmatched resolve to integrate over 560 princely states into one nation.”
Following the Malkapur march, Khadse led a second march in Bhusawal, where crowds filled the streets in a powerful display of unity. This event was attended by notable figures, including Girish Mahajan, Minister of Water Resources and Disaster Management, and Sanjay Savkare, Minister of Textiles for the Government of Maharashtra. The enthusiasm of participants was palpable, with thousands of students and citizens raising banners and slogans that celebrated patriotism and national pride.
A Call for Youth Engagement in Nation-Building
Khadse emphasized the importance of youth involvement in shaping India’s future, highlighting that the My Bharat initiative aims to connect young minds to the nation’s development journey. She urged that the ideals of the ‘Ekta Yatra’ must translate into actionable service, innovation, and leadership by the youth at the grassroots level.
The Unity Marches in Malkapur and Bhusawal mark a significant contribution to the ongoing Sardar@150 campaign, further promoting themes of unity, integrity, and collective participation in nation-building. This initiative serves as a fitting tribute to the legacy of the Iron Man of India, inspiring a new generation to engage actively in the country’s growth.
