National AI Seminar Kicks Off at JCD IBM College in Sirsa
A national seminar on artificial intelligence (AI) began on March 15, 2024, at JCD IBM College in Sirsa, organized under the auspices of the AICTE (All India Council for Technical Education). The two-day event aims to explore the impact of AI across various sectors, including management, research, engineering, education, and the humanities.
The seminar was inaugurated by Prof (Dr) Deepti Dharmani, Vice Chancellor of Chaudhary Bansi Lal University in Bhiwani, who performed the ceremonial lighting of the lamp. Dr Jai Prakash, Director General of JCD Vidyapeeth, chaired the event, while Dr Randeep Kaur coordinated the proceedings.
On the first day, it was highlighted that a total of 120 research papers were submitted from across the country. These papers reflect a significant interest in understanding AI’s influence on various fields. Addressing the attendees, Dr Dharmani stated that such seminars provide a valuable platform for young researchers to display their work and innovative ideas.
While acknowledging the opportunities AI presents, Dr Dharmani emphasized the importance of caution. “Machines don’t understand emotions,” she remarked, warning that excessive reliance on technology could undermine human values and cultural foundations. She advocated for a balanced approach, where AI complements innovation without supplanting human elements.
In his address, Dr Jai Prakash reinforced the notion that research is a vital catalyst for progress. He expressed optimism that AI-based studies would lead to advancements in industry, education, and social development. The discussions at the seminar are expected to foster collaboration and inspire new initiatives in AI research, making it a pivotal gathering for professionals and academics alike.
As the seminar continues, participants are likely to engage in dynamic discussions, further shaping the narrative around AI’s role in shaping future innovations.
