Air India Express Launches Direct Flights Between Doha and Mangaluru
Air India Express is set to enhance air travel options with the introduction of direct flights connecting Doha, Qatar, and Mangaluru, India, starting on April 1, 2026. This new service aims to improve connectivity for passengers travelling between the Gulf region and the coastal state of Karnataka, catering particularly to expatriates and business travellers.
The new route will operate three times a week, with flights departing from Doha on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays at 12:30 AM. These flights are scheduled to arrive in Mangaluru at 7:15 AM. Conversely, flights from Mangaluru to Doha will take off on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays at 10:00 PM, landing in Doha at 11:30 PM.
Strengthening Ties and Enhancing Convenience
The introduction of this direct service is expected to significantly benefit families and individuals with strong ties between Qatar and the Mangaluru region. According to local community leaders, the Mangaluru diaspora in Qatar has long sought more direct flight options to facilitate travel for work and personal commitments.
This new route is anticipated to enhance travel convenience, reduce transit times, and strengthen cultural and economic links between the two destinations. With a growing number of expatriates in Qatar, the demand for direct flights has been steadily increasing, making this service both timely and essential.
Air India Express has expressed confidence that the new flights will help foster economic opportunities and enhance connectivity for those travelling for work or leisure. As the airline continues to expand its international network, the Doha-Mangaluru service represents a significant step towards meeting the needs of its passengers and supporting regional ties.
The launch of these flights is a welcome development for the local community and businesses alike, as increased air connectivity often translates to enhanced trade and cultural exchanges. With the added convenience of direct flights, many travellers may find it easier to maintain personal and professional relationships across borders.
As April approaches, anticipation grows among the Mangaluru diaspora in Qatar, who are eager to take advantage of the new travel option.
