Science Conclave 2026 Promotes Sustainable Future at Kurukshetra University
The two-day Science Conclave 2026, themed “Empowering Lives with Science and Technology: A Quantum Leap into a Sustainable Future,” concluded on March 15, 2026, at Kurukshetra University. This event, organized in collaboration with the Haryana State Council for Science, Innovation and Technology, aimed to encourage scientific awareness and innovation among school and college students across the state.
During the valedictory ceremony, chief guest Vijay Nadda, Sangathan Mantri (North Zone) of Vidya Bharati Akhil Bharatiya Shiksha Sansthan, emphasized the importance of integrating scientific advancements with environmental stewardship and societal needs. He encouraged young participants to develop a robust scientific mindset critical for national progress.
The Vice Chancellor of Kurukshetra University, Prof Som Nath Sachdeva, remarked that the conclave served as an engaging platform for students to delve into knowledge creation, experiential learning, scientific ideas, innovations, and emerging technologies. He stated that a strong foundation in basic sciences is essential for achieving a sustainable future.
Prof Sachdeva highlighted the significant contributions of Indian scholars to the fields of science and technology, referencing historical figures such as Aryabhata and Pingala. He noted advancements in mathematics, including algebra and trigonometry, as well as notable progress in metallurgy. Additionally, he acknowledged the pioneering efforts of Charaka and Sushruta, who are regarded as the fathers of medicine and plastic surgery, respectively.
The second day of the conclave featured a “Science-in-Action” programme, conducted by Science Panorama, led by Suresh Soni and his team. This initiative aimed to showcase practical applications of scientific concepts. Dr Sangeeta Saini, the organizing secretary, noted that approximately 2,000 students from various schools participated in the conclave, reflecting a significant engagement in scientific discourse among the youth.
The Science Conclave 2026 successfully fostered a spirit of inquiry and innovation, positioning students to contribute meaningfully to a sustainable future through science and technology. The collaborative efforts of Kurukshetra University and the Haryana State Council for Science, Innovation and Technology demonstrate a commitment to nurturing the next generation of scientific leaders.
