Eight BDU Scientists Ranked Among World’s Top 2% by Stanford

A total of eight scientists from Bharathidasan University (BDU) have been recognized in the latest rankings by Stanford University, featuring among the top 2% of scientists globally. This prestigious list highlights the remarkable contributions of researchers across various fields, emphasizing their impact on both academia and the scientific community at large.
Among the distinguished faculty members, M. Lakshmanan and R. Ramesh achieved recognition in both the career-long impact and the single year 2024 lists. Meanwhile, M. Palaniandavar was included solely in the career-long impact category. The remaining professors, including S. Dhanuskodi, N. Thajuddin, M. Sathiyabama, R. Rajaram, and T.C. Sabari Girisun, were featured in the single year 2024 list.

Each of these scholars has made significant contributions to their respective fields. Professor M. Lakshmanan is recognized internationally for his expertise in nonlinear dynamics, while M. Palaniandavar is a leading figure in bioinorganic chemistry. S. Dhanuskodi has garnered attention for his work on lasers and nonlinear optical materials, solidifying his reputation as a key contributor to the field.
In microbiology, N. Thajuddin is noted for his research on cyanobacteria and microalgal taxonomy, which has important implications for environmental studies. R. Ramesh has made significant strides in organometallics and metal-mediated organic synthesis, showcasing the intersection of chemistry and practical applications. M. Sathiyabama has conducted notable research in molecular plant pathology, advancing knowledge crucial for agricultural sciences. Lastly, R.
