CBIT Students Launch StratoX 2025, Set World Record in Space Exploration
Students at the Chaitanya Bharathi Institute of Technology (CBIT) in Proddatur have successfully launched a near-space exploration mission named StratoX 2025, which has been officially recognized by the India Book of World Records. This achievement marks a significant milestone in student-led scientific initiatives, showcasing the capabilities of engineering students in real-world applications.
A dedicated team of 35 students from various engineering disciplines designed and executed the mission, which involved launching a high-altitude balloon. The balloon ascended to an impressive altitude of 35 kilometers into the stratosphere, carrying a scientific payload that gathered critical data on temperature, pressure, humidity, and UV radiation. The mission also included the capture of high-resolution atmospheric imagery, contributing valuable insights into the conditions of our atmosphere.
Innovative Technologies and Future Prospects
The payload did not just stop at collecting atmospheric data; it also featured a prototype of a picosatellite. This addition underscores CBIT’s commitment to advancing student-led satellite research, opening new avenues for future projects and innovations in aerospace technology. The successful launch reflects the institute’s emphasis on practical learning and hands-on experience for its engineering students.
Upon the successful completion of the mission, several prominent figures at CBIT expressed their pride in the students’ achievements. Dr. V Jayachandra Reddy, Chairman of CBIT, along with V Lohith Reddy, CEO, Prof. GKD Prasanna Venkatesan, Director of Academics & R&D, Dr. G Sreenivasula Reddy, Director of Administration, and Dr. S Sruthi, Principal, congratulated both the students and their faculty mentors for their hard work and dedication.
The recognition from the India Book of World Records not only highlights the students’ accomplishments but also positions CBIT as a leading institution in fostering innovation and research among young engineers. With initiatives like StratoX 2025, the institute is paving the way for future explorations and advancements in the field of aerospace, motivating other students to engage in similar groundbreaking projects.
As the world continues to explore the frontiers of space, projects like StratoX 2025 become increasingly significant. They inspire a new generation of engineers and scientists to push boundaries and contribute to our understanding of the universe.
