Kabir Bedi Reflects on Three-Year Silence with Daughter Pooja

Veteran actor Kabir Bedi recently addressed the nearly three-year estrangement from his daughter, Pooja Bedi, during an interview with television host Siddharth Kanan. Bedi shared insights into their strained relationship, attributing the silence to misunderstandings and disagreements that arose over the years.

In the candid conversation, Bedi emphasized that both parties contributed to the rift. He stated, “There are problems in every relationship sometimes. I don’t want to repeat the reasons again. However, there were a few misunderstandings – she did things that upset me, I must have done things that upset her. The important thing is that for 2-3 years, we were separated because of disagreements. Now that has ended.”

Reconciliation and Moving Forward

Bedi expressed relief that their relationship has since improved, describing it as “strong” and filled with mutual pride. He remarked, “It’s a good relationship between father and daughter, and I am very proud of all the things she is doing. There’s a lot of love and respect between us.”

When questioned about the potential influence of his fourth marriage on their relationship, Bedi opted not to delve into specific details. He remarked, “Whatever the reason, let’s not go into that. Parveen wasn’t the only reason. There were other reasons that divided us, other misunderstandings between father and daughter which had nothing to do with Parveen.”

Bedi, who shares Pooja with his first wife, Protima Bedi, acknowledged that the complexities of family dynamics can be challenging. He noted the joy in their current situation, saying, “The good thing is that all this is resolved. I love Pooja. I love Parveen. They love being in the same city and meeting on occasions. All is well.”
