Ayodhya is poised to unveil the world’s first wax museum dedicated to the Ramayana during its ninth Deepotsav celebrations. The inauguration is scheduled for Sunday, with Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath presiding over the event. This ambitious project, which has cost approximately ₹6 crore, aims to immerse visitors in the rich narrative of the ancient epic.

Located along the Chaudah Kosi Parikrama Marg, the museum occupies a two-story, air-conditioned building that spans 9,850 square feet. It features 50 lifelike wax statues depicting key characters from the Ramayana, designed to guide visitors through a chronological journey of the story. The ground floor focuses on Lord Ram’s early life, culminating in Sita’s swayamvar, while the first floor illustrates significant events, including Ram’s exile, Sita’s abduction, Lanka Dahan, and the subsequent battle with Ravan.

Visitors can expect an immersive experience, complete with the fragrance of Treta Yuga and the continuous chanting of the ‘Ram Tarak Mantra’ alongside Ram bhajans. A dedicated selfie spot has also been created next to the wax statue of Ram Lalla, enhancing the interactive nature of the museum.

The museum can accommodate up to 100 visitors at a time, with an entry fee set at ₹100 per person. Constructed by Sunil Wax Museum, the facility is designed in a South Indian architectural style, and each wax figure is meticulously crafted and illuminated to highlight its details.

In addition to enhancing cultural tourism, the project is a collaborative effort with the Municipal Corporation of Ayodhya, which will receive 12% of the museum’s revenue for city development initiatives. This integration of public and cultural interests underscores the significance of the museum as a potential landmark in Ayodhya.

As the city prepares for the grand unveiling, the Ramayana-themed wax museum promises to be a major attraction, providing both educational insights and a unique artistic experience that celebrates one of India’s most revered epics.
