Goa Tourism Launches Thrilling White Water Rafting Experience

The Goa Tourism Development Corporation (GTDC) has launched a new white water rafting experience on the scenic Mhadei River in Sattari Taluka, aimed at adventure enthusiasts visiting during the monsoon season. This initiative is part of the “Goa Beyond Beaches” campaign, designed to encourage tourists to explore the diverse natural attractions of Goa beyond its famous coastline. The rafting experience is set to attract visitors looking for excitement amidst the region’s lush, rain-fed landscapes.
During the monsoon, the Mhadei River swells, creating a spectacular backdrop for rafting. The 10-kilometre route features rapids classified as Grade II to III+, providing a mix of adventure and natural beauty. Participants will navigate through forested valleys and rolling hills, offering a unique perspective of Goa’s unspoiled wilderness.
The rafting experience caters to a wide range of visitors, from seasoned adventurers to families and first-timers. Each trip is supervised by certified guides who provide thorough safety briefings and ensure that all necessary equipment, including life jackets, helmets, and paddles, is available. Rafts accommodate between eight to ten participants, and each journey lasts approximately 90 minutes.
Rafting sessions are scheduled twice daily, in the morning and afternoon, from June to September, depending on weather conditions. This initiative not only enhances the tourist experience but also promotes local tourism and the appreciation of Goa’s natural environment.
By introducing such thrilling activities, GTDC aims to position Goa as a year-round destination for adventure tourism. This new offering is expected to draw thousands of nature and thrill enthusiasts eager to experience the unique beauty of Goa during the monsoon months.
