Varun Dhawan and Janhvi Kapoor’s Film Release Date Moves to October 2

The release of the highly anticipated film Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari, starring Varun Dhawan and Janhvi Kapoor, has been rescheduled to October 2, 2025. Originally slated for September 12, this romantic comedy directed by Shashank Khaitan will now debut during a festive period that includes Gandhi Jayanti and Dussehra, potentially giving it a competitive edge at the box office.
According to details shared by Bollywood Hungama, the decision to push back the release was made in collaboration with producer Karan Johar and the film’s production team. They believe that releasing the film during this festive time will maximize its audience reach. The strategic timing allows the film a clear run of approximately three weeks before the next major holiday, Diwali, which typically sees a surge in cinematic releases.
Despite the positive outlook, Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari will face competition from other films. It is set to clash with Kantara: A Legend – Chapter 1 and Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat, starring Harshvardhan Rane. The presence of multiple releases on the same date could impact box office performance, depending on audience reception.
For Janhvi Kapoor, this change provides a noticeable gap between her projects. Her other romantic drama, Param Sundari, is expected to hit theaters on August 29, 2025. As for Varun Dhawan, this film will be his only release in 2025 prior to the launch of the eagerly awaited war film, Border 2, which is set for Republic Day 2026.
In addition to Dhawan and Kapoor, Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari features a talented cast including Akshay Oberoi, Rohit Saraf, Sanya Malhotra, and Maniesh Paul. The film marks the third collaboration between Dhawan and Khaitan, following their successful ventures with Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania in 2014 and Badrinath Ki Dulhania in 2017, both of which garnered significant acclaim and box office success.
As the release date approaches, fans eagerly await further updates and promotional efforts surrounding this festive romantic comedy.
