Aneet Padda’s ‘Shakti Shalini’ Starts Filming in March 2024
Aneet Padda is set to commence filming for her next project, Shakti Shalini, in March 2024. Following her successful debut in the musical romance Saiyaara, Padda’s new film will be a part of the Maddock Horror Comedy Universe (MHCU). The production will be directed by Aditya Sarpotdar, who has previously collaborated with Maddock Films.
The first filming schedule for Shakti Shalini is reportedly prepared, with pre-production nearing completion. According to a source cited by Mid-day, the shooting will feature an extensive schedule. Originally slated to begin in January, the project experienced delays as pre-production required additional time to finalize.
Rumors suggest that actor Vishal Jethwa, recognized for his role in Homebound (2025), is expected to share the screen with Padda in this upcoming horror-comedy. Notably, Dinesh Vijan, the producer, initially considered Kiara Advani for the lead role before ultimately choosing Padda.
Unique Approach to Horror Comedy
Insiders have indicated that Shakti Shalini will distinguish itself from other films in the MHCU by incorporating significantly more drama than typical entries in the genre. The source elaborated that Aditya Sarpotdar has a unique ability to blend elements of mythology, horror, and humor, a talent he first showcased in his collaboration with Maddock Films on Munjya (2024).
Apart from her work on Shakti Shalini, Padda is also involved in a romantic drama with Yash Raj Films directed by Maneesh Sharma. Additionally, she has lent her voice to the upcoming project Devil May Cry 2 helmed by Adi Shankar.
The anticipation surrounding Shakti Shalini highlights Padda’s rising star power in the film industry, as she continues to explore diverse roles and creative opportunities. Film enthusiasts are eager to see how this project unfolds and how Padda will navigate the unique challenges of the horror-comedy genre.
