Indore Launches 400 Camps for Electricity Bill Settlement Scheme
Indore, Madhya Pradesh, is set to host over 400 camps to support the Electricity Bill Settlement Scheme introduced by the state government. The West Zone Electricity Distribution Company is ramping up efforts to ensure consumers across the Malwa-Nimar region benefit from this initiative. As of now, more than 1,000 consumers have received rebates amounting to approximately Rs 13 lakh, while the company has generated Rs 83 lakh in revenue through these settlements.
The extensive rollout will feature around 60 camps within the city of Indore and an additional 40 camps in the Indore rural area. Other districts will also see significant participation, with 100 camps planned in Dewas, 60 in Ujjain, 50 in Dhar, 22 in Shajapur, and 11 in Agar. These camps aim to make it easier for eligible consumers to settle their outstanding electricity dues in one lump sum or through installments, while also availing themselves of rebates based on their eligibility.
Expanded Accessibility and Outreach Efforts
Anoop Kumar Singh, the managing director of West Discom, has emphasized the importance of raising awareness about the scheme. Officials have been instructed to utilize various promotional tools, including posters, banners, WhatsApp messages, videos, and audio announcements. This outreach aims to ensure that more consumers are informed and can take advantage of the available benefits.
The Electricity Bill Settlement Scheme is particularly aimed at consumers who have overdue electricity bills for more than three months. Depending on their payment method and eligibility, these consumers can receive rebates ranging from 50 percent to 100 percent on existing surcharges. This initiative not only assists individuals in managing their electricity expenses but also supports the broader financial health of the utility company.
The implementation of these camps is part of a larger strategy to enhance customer engagement and improve service delivery in the region. By facilitating easier payment options and reducing outstanding dues, the initiative seeks to foster a more sustainable relationship between consumers and the electricity distribution company.
As the camps begin to roll out, residents of the Malwa-Nimar region are encouraged to participate and take full advantage of the opportunities presented by the Electricity Bill Settlement Scheme.
