Complete eKYC for Ladki Bahin Yojana by November 18, 2025
Beneficiaries of the **Mukhyamantri Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana** must complete their electronic Know Your Customer (eKYC) process by **November 18, 2025**. This initiative, introduced by the **Maharashtra government**, aims to provide financial support directly to women from economically weaker households. Eligible participants receive a monthly allowance of **Rs 1,500** via Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) into their Aadhaar-linked bank accounts. Failure to complete the eKYC by the deadline may result in the suspension of further payments.
The **Ladki Bahin Yojana** is designed to enhance women’s financial independence, allowing them to manage daily expenses, health needs, education, or small business initiatives. By facilitating direct transfers, the scheme reduces the role of intermediaries and ensures that funds reach the intended beneficiaries.
Eligibility Requirements
Women wishing to apply for the scheme must meet specific criteria. Applicants must be residents of Maharashtra, aged between **21 to 65 years**, and belong to families with an annual income of **Rs 2.5 lakh** or less. Furthermore, the woman must possess an Aadhaar-linked bank account in her name. One unmarried woman per household is eligible, which includes categories such as widowed, divorced, or abandoned women.
Certain households are excluded from eligibility. Families with any member who is a regular or permanent government employee, pensioner, or who pays income tax are ineligible. Additionally, households earning above the specified threshold or those already receiving a similar monthly amount under another scheme cannot apply.
Understanding the e-KYC Requirement
The introduction of the eKYC requirement aims to strengthen the integrity of the scheme. The Maharashtra government issued a notification in **September 2025**, allowing beneficiaries a two-month period to complete this verification process. The eKYC is essential for several reasons. It verifies the identity of beneficiaries and ensures the correct linkage between their bank accounts and Aadhaar numbers. This measure is crucial in reducing fraud and duplicate claims, ensuring funds reach legitimate recipients. The government has also authorized cross-checking with Income Tax Return data to eliminate ineligible applicants.
To complete the eKYC process, beneficiaries can follow a simple online procedure. Here’s how:
1. Visit the official portal: **ladakibahin.maharashtra.gov.in** and select the e-KYC option.
2. Enter your Aadhaar number, captcha, agree to the terms, and click “Send OTP.”
3. Input the OTP received on the mobile number linked to your Aadhaar.
4. Provide the Aadhaar number of your husband or father, depending on your marital status, and verify via OTP.
5. Fill out declarations regarding caste category, income, and family employment status.
6. Submit the form and take note of the confirmation message.
For those who encounter difficulties online, assistance is available at the nearest Anganwadi centre, SEtU centre, or taluka office.
The **Ladki Bahin Yojana** represents a significant step towards empowering women in Maharashtra. The timely completion of the eKYC process is vital for ensuring that beneficiaries continue to receive necessary support and assistance.
