Andhra Pradesh Government Unveils Diwali Benefits for Employees
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu announced a series of benefits for government employees as part of a Diwali package, which includes the release of an additional installment of the Dearness Allowance (DA) starting from November 1. The initiative aims to enhance the financial well-being of state employees during the festive season.
In an official statement made late on Saturday, Naidu outlined that the state government is expected to incur an expenditure of approximately Rs 160 crore each month to accommodate this increase in the Dearness Allowance. This decision reflects the government’s commitment to supporting its workforce during significant cultural celebrations.
Additional Financial Support and Health Benefits
Beyond the Dearness Allowance, Naidu confirmed that the government will also address a portion of the police department’s earned leave payments. This will be executed in two equal installments, each amounting to Rs 105 crore. This payment structure is designed to provide timely financial relief to police personnel, acknowledging their service and dedication.
The Chief Minister further emphasized improvements in employee welfare by announcing a streamlined health insurance scheme, which is set to be implemented within 60 days. This initiative aims to enhance the existing health benefits available to government employees.
In a notable addition, Naidu declared that government employees will now have access to 180 days of child care leave, which can be availed before retirement. This policy aims to support working parents in balancing their professional responsibilities with family needs, reinforcing the government’s focus on employee welfare.
These announcements not only highlight the Andhra Pradesh government’s efforts to support its employees but also reflect a broader commitment to enhancing job satisfaction and well-being during festive occasions.
