ISRO Opens Registration for 2025 Scientist/Engineer Roles
The Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre (VSSC), a key facility of the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), has initiated the registration process for the recruitment of Scientist/Engineer-SC positions. Interested candidates can apply via the official VSSC portal at vssc.gov.in. The application window remains open until October 6, 2025, at 17:00 IST.
Vacancies and Eligibility Criteria
The recruitment drive encompasses various engineering disciplines, including Applied Mechanics, Machine Design, Metallurgical and Materials Engineering, Thermal and Fluid Systems, Control Systems, Guidance and Navigation, as well as Chemical Engineering, Non-Destructive Testing, Aerospace Materials, Industrial Safety, and Fire Safety.
Prospective applicants must be Indian nationals, and those holding foreign degrees are required to present an equivalence certificate from the Association of Indian Universities (AIU). Candidates with a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Technology (BE/BTech) must achieve a minimum of 65% marks or a CGPA/CPI of 6.84/10. For those with a Master’s degree (ME/MTech), a minimum of 60% marks or a CGPA/CPI of 6.5/10 is necessary. All educational qualifications must be finalized by October 6, 2025. The age limit for applicants is set at 30 years as of the same date, with relaxations for SC/ST, OBC, PwBD, and Ex-servicemen.
Application Process and Selection Details
The application process requires candidates to pay a fee of ₹750. However, candidates from SC/ST, Persons with Disabilities (PwBD), Ex-servicemen, and women are eligible for a full refund upon attending the written test, while other applicants will receive a refund of ₹500 minus bank charges.
The selection process is structured into two stages: a written test followed by an interview. The written examination is divided into three parts. Part A consists of 60 discipline-specific multiple-choice questions (MCQs) to be completed in 75 minutes. Part B includes 15 aptitude MCQs with a duration of 30 minutes, while Part C features one descriptive question to be answered in 30 minutes. Candidates must achieve the minimum qualifying marks in each section to progress to the interview stage.
Shortlisting for the interview occurs at a ratio of 1:5, meaning five candidates will be considered for each available position. The final selection will weigh the scores from the written test and interview equally, contributing 50% each to the overall assessment.
Selected candidates will be appointed as Scientist/Engineer-SC (Group A, Level 10), with a salary range of ₹56,100 to ₹1,77,500 per month, plus allowances as per Central Government regulations.
For further details and to apply, candidates are encouraged to visit the official VSSC website.
