Intuc Mobilizes Workers in Jubilee Hills to Support Congress Bid
The Indian National Trade Union Congress (Intuc) is rallying workers in Jubilee Hills to support the Congress candidate, Naveen Yadav, ahead of the upcoming byelection. Union leaders are emphasizing the importance of collective voting among the constituency’s workforce, which they believe can significantly influence the election outcome.
Union Leaders Call for Collective Action
During a recent press conference, representatives from Intuc highlighted the strength of the local labour force in shaping political decisions. Sanjeeva Reddy, the national president of Intuc, stated that workers from both the government and private sectors, along with those in gig and informal employment, depend on policies that promote welfare and job security.
Reddy urged voters in Jubilee Hills to support Yadav, asserting that doing so would bolster initiatives focused on labour protection and social security. He emphasized the need for a government that prioritizes worker-oriented governance in Telangana.
“This byelection is an opportunity to strengthen policies centred on social protection and fair working conditions,” Reddy explained. He underscored the contributions of both national and state leaders in expanding labour-friendly initiatives, which have been pivotal in improving the lives of workers.
Mobilizing the Workforce for Change
Speakers at the gathering encouraged labour groups to view the byelection as a critical platform for asserting their collective priorities. They believe it is essential to keep worker concerns at the forefront of political discourse. The union aims to consolidate voter commitment among employees and informal workers, encouraging active engagement in the electoral process.
The call to action is particularly significant as union representatives stress the importance of a unified vote. They argue that a concerted effort by workers can lead to a government that genuinely reflects their aspirations and supports inclusive growth.
As the byelection approaches, Intuc is intensifying its efforts to mobilize support for the Congress party. By appealing to workers and informal sector groups, they aim to ensure that the voices of labour are heard and considered in the political landscape of Jubilee Hills.
