Travis Hunter Faces Season-Ending Injury While Enjoying Family Time
Travis Hunter, a rookie for the Jacksonville Jaguars, has been sidelined for the remainder of the 2025 NFL season due to a serious knee injury. This unfortunate turn of events has allowed him to spend more time at home with his wife, Leanna Lenee, and their three-month-old son. While the situation is challenging for Hunter, Lenee has added a lighthearted touch to their family moments, sharing a playful post on social media that included a photo of Hunter bonding with their baby.
In her caption, Lenee teased about the current NFL playoff scenarios, showcasing her personality and the couple’s dynamic. She gained popularity during Hunter’s college career, often seen in her custom outfits at games for the Colorado Buffaloes. The couple welcomed their son in late August, just before the start of Hunter’s professional journey.
Hunter was having an impressive season prior to his injury, having recorded eight catches for 101 yards and his first touchdown in a game just before suffering a non-contact injury during practice. The injury occurred in late October and was later confirmed to be serious, leading to successful LCL surgery. Initially, there were hopes of a potential late-season return, but as of now, Hunter has been officially ruled out for the remainder of his rookie campaign.
In the seven games he played, Hunter showcased his talent on both offense and defense. He logged 28 receptions for 298 yards and one touchdown, participating in 67% of offensive snaps. On the defensive side, he made 15 tackles and defended three passes, demonstrating his versatility as a two-way player.
Looking ahead, the Jaguars have reported that Hunter did not sustain any additional damage to his knee. They anticipate that he will be able to resume full football activities within six months, aiming for a return around mid-May 2026. This timeline will allow him to recover fully and prepare for the following season.
For fans of the Jaguars, this news serves as a bittersweet moment. While they will miss Hunter’s contributions on the field this season, his commitment to his family and his recovery is commendable. As the Jaguars navigate their current season without him, supporters remain hopeful for his return and the potential impact he will have in the future.
