Actress Rashmika Mandanna has expressed a strong desire to explore opportunities in the world of Korean dramas. Speaking to IANS, she revealed her enthusiasm for the genre while emphasizing the importance of finding the right project. Rashmika, known for her diverse filmography, stated, “Oh, of course, I would want to do a Korean drama. Like, that’ll be fun. But also, it depends on what they give me, because you know how picky I am with what I do on screen.”

Her admiration for Korean dramas began during the COVID-19 pandemic, a time when many found solace in binge-watching series. “My love for Korean drama, I think, started during Covid only, because there was so much time on hand. And every K-drama has, like, 16 episodes, which means 16 hours you’ve got to spend watching it,” she explained, reflecting on how the genre captured her interest.

As she navigates her career, Rashmika currently enjoys the success of her latest film, Thamma, a horror-comedy featuring Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Ayushmann Khurrana. The film is set in a fictional universe and is part of the larger Maddock Horror Comedy Universe, which connects to other popular films like Bhediya and the Stree series. In this vampire-themed narrative, Ayushmann portrays a journalist entangled in a power struggle between vampires played by Rashmika and Nawazuddin.

In addition to Thamma, Rashmika stars in The Girlfriend, a Telugu romantic drama that was released on November 7, 2025, in multiple languages, including Telugu, Tamil, Hindi, Kannada, and Malayalam. Directed by Rahul Ravindran, this film also features actor Dheekshith Shetty.

Looking ahead, Rashmika is set to appear in upcoming projects, including Cocktail 2 and Mysaa, further expanding her repertoire in the film industry.

With her passion for diverse storytelling, Rashmika Mandanna’s ambitions in the realm of Korean dramas reflect her willingness to embrace new challenges and explore different narratives that resonate with her evolving career.
