Candace Owens Claims Israel Lobby Linked to Charlie Kirk’s Death
Candace Owens has ignited controversy with her recent claims regarding the death of right-wing commentator Charlie Kirk. In a video shared on her YouTube channel, Owens suggested that Kirk, who was shot dead on September 10, 2023, faced undue pressure from Jewish donors linked to the Israeli lobby, impacting his stance on Israel just days before his assassination.
Owens asserted that Kirk’s organization, Turning Point USA, is attempting to suppress inquiries into the circumstances surrounding his death. She stated that several influencers have targeted her for questioning what she termed the “micro lies” that obscure the truth about Kirk’s tragic fate. In her remarks, Owens, who previously referred to Kirk as her “brother,” claimed that the alleged shooter, Tyler Robinson, was framed and not the true perpetrator.
To bolster her claims, Owens presented purported WhatsApp messages from Kirk, which she said occurred two days prior to his death. In these messages, Kirk allegedly lamented the loss of a significant Jewish donor contributing $2 million annually, stating, “Just lost another huge Jewish donor. I’m thinking of inviting Candace.” This assertion has sparked debates about the potential influence of the Israeli lobby on Kirk’s political activities.
Owens maintains that Kirk was under severe pressure from Jewish donors after he began to host guests critical of Israel and expressed intentions to distance himself from pro-Israel advocacy. In her video, she stated, “Charlie Kirk was done with Israel bullying him, and everyone knew it.” This commentary reflects a broader sentiment Owens has expressed regarding the perceived intimidation tactics used by some donors.
The situation escalated further when Tucker Carlson, a fellow conservative commentator known for his critiques of Israeli policies, discussed Kirk’s views. On his program, Carlson revealed that Kirk had openly criticized Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, stating that he believed Netanyahu was a “destructive force.” Carlson emphasized that there was a “small, very intense group who tormented Charlie Kirk until the day he died.”
Kirk was shot while speaking at an event at Utah Valley University, where security measures have since come under scrutiny. A report by the Associated Press highlighted the lack of adequate safety protocols at the venue, noting that only six campus officers were present during the event, which was attended by approximately 48,000 students. Analysts criticized the absence of surveillance technology, suggesting that drones could have monitored potential threats.
As investigations continue, Owens and other commentators are calling for a deeper examination of the circumstances surrounding Kirk’s death, questioning the motivations and influences that may have contributed to this tragic event. The controversy encapsulates ongoing tensions within conservative circles regarding foreign policy and the influence of donors on political discourse.
