Bihar Election 2025: Vote Counting Begins for Assembly Seats
The future of Bihar’s government is at stake today, November 14, 2025, as the counting of votes for the 243 Assembly constituencies commences. Voter turnout reached an impressive 66.91% during the two phases of voting held on November 6 and November 11. As results start to come in, many analysts anticipate that the incumbent National Democratic Alliance (NDA), led by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, will retain power.
To form a government in the 243-member Assembly, a party or coalition needs to secure 122 seats. The official results are expected to be announced by the evening, with significant attention on the primary contest between the NDA and the Mahagathbandhan (Grand Alliance), spearheaded by Tejashwi Yadav‘s Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD). Additionally, Prashant Kishor‘s Jan Suraaj Party aims to disrupt the traditional two-party dynamic in select regions, potentially impacting the final outcome.
Vote Counting Process and Official Results
The Election Commission of India (ECI) serves as the authoritative source for official results and real-time updates during the counting process. Voters and interested parties can track the vote tally through the ECI’s official website at results.eci.gov.in.
To check the results, users should navigate to the constituency-wise results section and select the specific Assembly seat they wish to view. This process will reveal the votes received by each candidate, ensuring transparency in the electoral process.
As the counting progresses, political analysts are keenly observing the dynamics at play. The NDA’s performance will be measured against the backdrop of exit polls, which have largely predicted a favorable outcome for the ruling coalition. In contrast, the Mahagathbandhan is hoping to capitalize on voter discontent and present a formidable challenge.
The significance of this election extends beyond the immediate political landscape, as it reflects broader trends in voter sentiment and governance in Bihar. The results will not only determine the composition of the Assembly but also set the stage for future political strategies and alliances in this crucial Indian state.
As the day unfolds, all eyes remain on Bihar, where the counting of votes could reshape the region’s political narrative for years to come.
