The upcoming war drama, Battle of Galwan, featuring Salman Khan, has generated significant interest since its announcement. Recent speculation regarding a potential appearance by legendary actor Amitabh Bachchan was sparked by a photograph shared by director Apoorva Lakhia. However, Lakhia has now confirmed that Bachchan will not be part of the film.
The speculation began when Lakhia posted a picture on his Instagram Stories with Bachchan, captioning it with a playful inquiry about what the actor might be saying. This led fans to wonder if Bachchan would make a cameo or have a substantial role in the film. In a statement to Hindustan Times, Lakhia clarified, “No. He was shooting for a commercial in the opposite studio, so I went to meet him and said hello.”
This clarification puts an end to the excitement surrounding Bachchan’s involvement. Lakhia and Bachchan have previously collaborated on projects such as Ek Ajnabee (2005) and Mumbai Se Aaya Mera Dost (2003). Notably, the last time Bachchan shared the screen with Salman was in God Tussi Great Ho (2008), marking a 17-year gap.
Film Details and Cast
Battle of Galwan focuses on the 2020 clash between Indian and Chinese troops in the Galwan Valley. Salman Khan portrays Colonel Santhosh Babu, an Army officer, while Chitrangda Singh stars opposite him, marking a fresh pairing on the big screen.
The film includes a diverse cast featuring Abhilash Chaudhary, Ankur Bhatia, Vipin Bhardwaj, Abhishree Sen, Nirbhay Chaudhary, Siddharth Mooley, and Zeyn Shaw. Reports suggest that actor Govinda will also appear in the film. Recently, while teasing his upcoming projects, Salman hinted at collaborating with Govinda again, adding to the anticipation surrounding the film.
As excitement builds for Battle of Galwan, fans will have to wait for further updates on the film and its release date. The film promises to deliver powerful performances, an engaging storyline, and a fresh pairing, making it one of the most awaited releases in the coming months.
