Uttarakhand CM Criticizes INDIA Bloc for Derogatory Remarks Against PM Modi

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has launched a strong condemnation of the opposition alliance known as the INDIA bloc, following reports of derogatory remarks made about Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his mother at a recent event. Dhami’s comments were prompted by a viral video allegedly showing these insults during a gathering in Darbhanga, Bihar.
During a press conference on Thursday, Dhami stated that the INDIA bloc’s inability to accept that “a son of a poor mother” has become the Prime Minister exemplifies a deeper issue within the opposition. He emphasized that “this misdeed is not only an insult to the Prime Minister but also a contempt for the glorious tradition of Bihar.” He called for an immediate apology from Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and Tejashwi Yadav of the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) for their alleged involvement in this incident, referring to it as a “shameful act” that undermines political integrity.
The Chief Minister further criticized the tone of political discourse, stating, “Inspired by their speeches, their workers are also using abusive language now. There is no place for such vile statements in political integrity.”
In a similar vein, Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma described the remarks made by Gandhi and Yadav as “highly condemnable.” Sharma argued that the Congress and RJD have “crossed all limits of shamelessness.” He asserted that the public will not forgive these parties for their actions, emphasizing that the leaders are struggling to accept that the Prime Minister, whom they insult, has garnered affection from the populace.
The controversy has escalated, with BJP leader Krishna Singh Kallu filing a formal complaint against Gandhi for his comments. Kallu has urged for the cessation of the “Voter Adhikar Yatra,” a campaign led by Congress in the poll-bound state, in light of the remarks.
As the BJP accuses the Congress of “lowering political standards,” the Congress party has retaliated by asserting that the BJP is diverting attention from pressing issues by focusing on “irrelevant” controversies. This exchange highlights the growing tensions in Indian politics as the nation approaches upcoming elections.
The incident illustrates the contentious landscape of Indian politics, where personal attacks and derogatory language have become increasingly common. Both parties continue to engage in a war of words, with significant implications for their respective electoral strategies as they navigate the complex dynamics of public opinion.
