In Barnala, India, police apprehended four men believed to be connected to the notorious Bambiha gang following a dramatic confrontation on Friday night. The suspects were arrested after they allegedly fired upon police officers who signaled their vehicle to stop on Khudi road.

According to senior superintendent of police Md Sarfaraz Alam, the operation took place during a routine check at a police nakka. The accused, traveling in a Hyundai Verna car, included Satnam Singh, known as Satti, from Barnala; Gurpreet, also referred to as Guri, from Bhadaur; Sarm Singh, nicknamed Rinku, from Delhi; and Deepak Singh from Kaithal in Haryana.

Upon being signaled by the police, the men allegedly opened fire, prompting an immediate response from the officers. The police successfully overpowered the suspects, leading to their arrest. During the operation, authorities seized four pistols, including a Turkey-made Zigana pistol.

The police investigation revealed that Satnam Singh has a substantial criminal record, facing a total of 22 cases that include serious charges such as murder, attempted murder, violations of the Arms Act, and the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. Additionally, Sarm Singh and Deepak Singh have been linked to narcotics-related activities.

An official case has been registered, and police are continuing their investigation into the gang’s activities and connections. Local authorities remain vigilant as they address the ongoing threat posed by organized crime in the region.
