Police Apprehend Two Associates of Lawrence Bishnoi Gang

In a significant operation against organized crime, the Muktsar Sahib police have arrested two associates of the notorious Lawrence Bishnoi gang and seized five illegal firearms from their possession. The arrested individuals are identified as Gurdeep Singh, from Badhni Kalan in Moga, and Gursewak Singh alias Mota, from Manu Ke Sandhu village in Jagraon, Ludhiana.
The police recovered four .32 bore country-made pistols and one .30 bore country-made pistol, along with ten magazines. According to Gaurav Yadav, the Director General of Police in Punjab, initial investigations indicate that the suspects are connected to the Bishnoi gang and were actively involved in its criminal operations. The police are continuing their investigation to determine both forward and backward linkages within the gang’s network.
Akhil Chaudhary, the Senior Superintendent of Police for Sri Muktsar Sahib, noted that the arrests were made following specific intelligence. A special checkpoint was established by the CIA Malout unit, during which officers apprehended the two suspects carrying a blue kit bag. Upon searching the bag, police teams uncovered the illegal firearms.
The investigation revealed that Gurdeep Singh had established contacts with two known associates of the Bishnoi gang: Harjot Singh alias Neela and Jagdeep Singh alias Jagga. Chaudhary explained that, under Neela’s direction, both Gurdeep and Gursewak traveled to Indore, where an unidentified individual supplied them with the five pistols. Of these weapons, two were intended for the accused, while the remaining three were meant to be delivered to Neela.
Notably, Harjot Singh and Jagdeep Singh are wanted criminals, with 12 and 10 first information reports (FIRs) registered against them in various districts and states. The ongoing investigation aims to dismantle the wider network of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang and curb its illicit activities.
