Delhi’s CM Gupta Launches Munak Canal Riverfront and Health Initiatives

Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta announced an extensive plan on March 23, 2024, to develop a riverfront along the Munak Canal. This initiative coincides with the proposed elevated road that will connect Inderlok in North Delhi to the Delhi-Haryana border. The project aims to enhance traffic flow and improve connectivity between the Outer and Inner Ring Roads, addressing long-standing congestion issues in the area.
During her visit to the Shalimar Bagh Assembly Constituency, CM Gupta inaugurated various development projects and assessed ongoing works in several blocks of Pitampura. Among the new initiatives, she launched sewer lines across TP, VP, LP, and HD blocks, which were constructed at a cost of Rs 60 lakh. A newly built road connecting SP-1 and SP-65 was also inaugurated, with a budget of Rs 11 lakh.
In addition, CM Gupta announced that tenders worth Rs 91 lakh are in progress to connect additional lanes in the SP and TP blocks. Another significant project is the Indraprastha Gas Limited (IGL) pipeline, which will be installed in VP and FP blocks at a cost of Rs 54 lakh. Furthermore, new ready-mix concrete (RMC) roads in JP and KP blocks were dedicated, amounting to Rs 35 lakh.
Enhanced Infrastructure and Health Services
The Chief Minister elaborated on the upcoming elevated road project, which will begin at Inderlok Metro Station and extend to the Delhi-Haryana border. This infrastructure improvement is expected to significantly reduce travel time and improve accessibility.
In a notable enhancement of healthcare services, CM Gupta announced the establishment of 15 new Arogya Mandirs, designed to improve primary health services within her constituency. She also indicated plans to repurpose a long-abandoned building near Max Hospital into a super-speciality hospital, further reinforcing the area’s healthcare capabilities.
During her inspection, CM Gupta took the opportunity to visit the ongoing road-widening project from Prembari Bridge to Singalpur village. She instructed officials to expedite the completion of this essential work. Additionally, she laid the foundation stone for a new U-turn at NSP-Madhuban Chowk on Lala Jagat Narayan Marg, which will be constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 40 lakh.
The various projects unveiled by CM Gupta reflect a commitment to improving infrastructure and public services in Delhi, aiming for a better quality of life for residents.
