The blast occurred around 18:52 local time when a vehicle stopped at a traffic light detonated, damaging nearby vehicles and shattering window panes in the area.

In response to the incident, Prime Minister Narendra Modi convened an emergency meeting, speaking with Union Home Minister Amit Shah to assess the situation and receive updates. According to information provided by the Press Trust of India, Shah has been in continuous contact with the Director of the Intelligence Bureau regarding the unfolding events.

Immediate Response and Investigation

Emergency teams, including those from the National Security Guard (NSG), National Investigation Agency (NIA), and the forensic department, were dispatched to the scene for rapid investigation. Shah instructed the leaders of these agencies to expedite their efforts in collecting evidence and understanding the circumstances surrounding the explosion.

The Delhi Police have heightened security measures across the city, initiating a high alert following the blast.
