Quinton de Kock Shines with 90 Runs in 2nd T20I Against India

In an impressive display of batting, South African cricketer Quinton de Kock scored 90 runs in the second T20I against India held in Mullanpur, New Chandigarh on March 15, 2025. His partnership with Reeza Hendricks yielded 38 runs, followed by a substantial 83-run collaboration with Aiden Markram. With this performance, de Kock surpassed 2,700 runs in T20Is, amassing 2,705 runs from 98 matches at an average exceeding 30. This innings marked his 17th T20I fifty, with one century to his name. Against India, he now boasts five fifty-plus scores, equating him with notable players like Nicholas Pooran and Jos Buttler for the most fifty-plus scores against India in T20 internationals. Pooran has achieved this in 20 innings, while Buttler took 24, compared to de Kock’s 12 innings.

De Kock’s consistent performance against India has seen him compile 441 runs in 13 matches at an impressive average of over 44, with a strike rate of 146.51, according to ESPNcricinfo. Furthermore, he has crossed the significant milestone of 11,500 runs in T20 cricket, now standing at 11,542 runs at an average of 31.02. He achieved this landmark with his 48th run during the match.

This innings also secured de Kock the record for the third-highest score by a South African batsman against India in T20Is. The top three highest scores are as follows:
