Himachal Pradesh Scientists Earn Global Recognition in Rankings
Seven scientists from Himachal Pradesh have achieved significant recognition by being ranked among the world’s top 2% of scientists, according to the Stanford-Elsevier list. This remarkable accomplishment includes five researchers from the Central University of Himachal Pradesh (CUHP) and two from Himachal Pradesh University (HPU).
CUHP Achievements
From CUHP, the distinguished scientists are Prof Sandeep K Sood, Dr Manpreet Arora, Dr Rajesh Kumar Singh, Dr Deepak Pant, and Dr Neeraj Gupta. They were recently honored by the Vice-Chancellor, Prof Sat Prakash Bansal, who praised their innovative research contributions across various fields, including computational modelling and environmental sustainability. “This recognition is a testimony to CUHP’s growing research culture and pursuit of global academic standards,” said Prof Bansal.
HPU’s Celebrated Researchers
Himachal Pradesh University also celebrated two of its notable faculty members, Dr Baljit Singh, a Professor of Chemistry, and Dr Suvarcha Chauhan, a retired Professor of Chemistry. Both have made significant advancements in organic chemistry, polymer science, nanomaterials, and drug delivery research.
This recognition not only highlights the individual accomplishments of these researchers but also underscores the growing reputation of Himachal Pradesh on the academic global stage. Their work exemplifies the commitment to excellence and innovation within the region’s educational institutions.
As these scientists continue to push the boundaries of research, their efforts contribute to the broader scientific community and inspire future generations of scholars from Himachal Pradesh and beyond.
