United States President Donald Trump has unequivocally rejected the prospect of resuming trade negotiations with Canada. He noted that Carney had “apologised for what they did with the commercial because it was a false commercial.” Despite this apology, Trump confirmed that the US would not re-engage in trade discussions, a position that remains firm even after Ontario removed the controversial ad from circulation.

He stated, “The sole purpose of this FRAUD was Canada’s hope that the United States Supreme Court will come to their ‘rescue’ on Tariffs that they have used for years to hurt the United States.” He emphasized that Reagan supported tariffs for national security and economic reasons, claiming that the Canadian advertisement misrepresented this stance.
