Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has announced significant development plans for Ambernath, a town in the Thane district, during an election rally. Shinde pledged to establish metro connectivity to the area should his party, the Shiv Sena, achieve victory in the upcoming local body elections in Maharashtra.

Speaking to supporters on the night of March 2, 2024, Shinde emphasized his dedication to the principles of Balasaheb Thackeray, asserting, “I am the true Shiv Sainik, one who stands by and fulfills every assurance I make.” He highlighted ongoing development initiatives in Ambernath, which is part of the constituency represented by his son, Kalyan MP Dr Shrikant Shinde.

Commitment to Infrastructure and Community Welfare

Shinde outlined his vision for Ambernath, promising not only metro connectivity but also a Thane-model cluster scheme tailored for the town. He expressed confidence in his party’s chances, stating, “If the people so desire, they can ensure that our rivals lose their deposits in the Ambernath Municipal Council elections.”

Reflecting on his personal journey, Shinde shared the inspiration behind the launch of the Mukhyamantri Majhi Ladki Bahin scheme. This initiative provides a monthly allowance of ₹1,500 to women from economically disadvantaged families. He noted that this scheme has garnered significant affection from women across Maharashtra.

On the following day, Shinde participated in a roadshow in Roha, Raigad district, where he continued his campaign efforts. Addressing the crowd, he urged voters to support the ‘Bow and Arrow’ symbol if they seek genuine change and development in their city.

Plans for Roha’s Development

Shinde focused on the need for improved infrastructure in Roha, promising enhanced facilities and services. He endorsed the candidacy of Shilpa Dhotre and her team, urging citizens to elect them with a strong majority. “If the people of Roha want faster development and better facilities, they should vote for our candidate,” he asserted.

During his address, Shinde committed to ensuring that the government allocates necessary funds for critical projects in Roha. These include better roads, clean drinking water, an underground drainage system, and improved hospital facilities. He also mentioned ongoing efforts to clean the Kundalika River and strengthen overall infrastructure in the area.

Shinde concluded by highlighting that a substantial amount of funding has already been allocated to Roha, with plans for continued development in the coming years. This commitment to infrastructure and community welfare underscores the Shiv Sena’s focus on local governance and public service as the elections approach.
