Army Chief Issues Stern Warning to Pakistan Over Terrorism
Chief of Army Staff General Upendra Dwivedi delivered a resolute warning to Pakistan regarding its involvement in cross-border terrorism. This statement was made during his address at the Chanakya Defence Dialogue 2025. General Dwivedi characterized recent military operations as merely a preview, stating that Operation Sindoor concluded successfully in just 88 hours.
In his remarks, General Dwivedi emphasized the significance of the operation and highlighted India’s preparedness for any future challenges. He stated, “Operation Sindoor was just a trailer which ended in 88 hours. We are prepared for any circumstances in future.” This comment underscores India’s commitment to safeguarding its national security and responding effectively to any threats.
The general specifically cautioned Pakistan against any attempts at mischief, asserting that if provoked, India would respond decisively. “If Pakistan gives a chance, we will teach it how to behave responsibly with a neighbouring nation,” he added, reinforcing the notion that India will not tolerate acts of aggression.
During his speech, General Dwivedi addressed the broader implications of Pakistan’s state-sponsored terrorism, particularly in light of a recent car blast attack in Delhi. He noted, “When that country sponsors terrorism, it’s a concern for us.” This statement reflects ongoing tensions between the two nations, with India consistently expressing its commitment to countering terrorist threats.
The general further articulated a clear stance regarding dialogue and peace, stating, “We talk about progress, but if anyone creates obstacles, we will have to take action.” He insisted that, as far as the “New Normal” is concerned, the coexistence of “talks and terror” is untenable.
General Dwivedi’s remarks highlight a commitment to peace, conditional upon Pakistan’s willingness to abandon hostile actions. “We are only saying that if they adopt peace, we will be fine with it,” he remarked, asserting India’s readiness to respond to any threats posed by terrorists and their sponsors.
He concluded with a warning to those who might attempt to intimidate India, saying, “If someone tries to blackmail India, they should remember that today India is at a point where it will not be afraid of such blackmail.” This declaration serves as a reminder of India’s evolving military capabilities and its resolve to protect its sovereignty.
In summary, General Dwivedi’s address at the Chanakya Defence Dialogue not only highlighted India’s operational readiness but also conveyed a message of resilience and determination in the face of external threats.
