The Indian Naval Academy (INA) in Ezhimala will conduct the Passing Out Parade (POP) for the Autumn Term on November 29, 2025. This significant event, as detailed in a press release from the Ministry of Defence, marks the conclusion of an extensive training period for cadets preparing to serve as Officers in the Indian Navy, Indian Coast Guard, and allied foreign navies.
Event Highlights and Significance
The POP is one of the Indian Navy’s most esteemed traditions, embodying its core values of discipline, honour, and professional excellence. The parade will be reviewed by General Anil Chauhan, Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), who will preside over the proceedings as the Reviewing Officer. Attendees can expect to witness remarkable drill performances, precise coordination, and the highest standards of military bearing throughout the ceremony.
Cadets from the Indian Navy and Indian Coast Guard will participate, alongside international trainees from countries including Bangladesh, Maldives, Mozambique, Myanmar, Seychelles, Sri Lanka, and Vietnam. This diverse participation highlights India’s strong maritime partnerships and collaborative defence efforts.
Attendance and Ceremony Details
The event will be attended by distinguished dignitaries, senior naval leadership, as well as proud parents and instructors who have played a crucial role in the cadets’ rigorous training journey. Key highlights of the parade will include the formal Review of the Parade, the presentation of medals and trophies to outstanding performers, and the ceremonial Shipping of Stripes, which signifies the commissioning of the cadets as Officers.
For those unable to attend in person, the ceremony will be streamed live on the Indian Navy’s official Facebook and YouTube channels, providing an opportunity for audiences in India and around the world to engage with this momentous occasion.
