Samantha Ruth Prabhu Shares Insights on Her Clean Eating Journey
Actress Samantha Ruth Prabhu has opened up about her high-protein, clean eating lifestyle in a recent podcast with nutritionist Rashi Chowdhary. During the October 24, 2023 episode, she discussed how her eating habits have transformed over the years, particularly after being diagnosed with myositis, a rare autoimmune condition affecting her muscles.
Samantha revealed that she consumes approximately 100 grams of protein daily while weighing just 50 kilograms. She emphasized that her meals are meticulously designed to keep her strong and energized. “I take 100 grams of protein and I am 50 kg,” she stated, underscoring the importance of protein in her diet.
Nutritionist Rashi Chowdhary contributed to the discussion by highlighting the dietary needs for women in India. She explained that an average Indian woman weighing between 55 to 60 kilograms should aim for a daily protein intake of 60 to 80 grams. This can be achieved through a balanced diet rich in paneer, curd, lentils, or by incorporating quality protein supplements.
Transformative Impact of Health Conditions
Samantha’s relationship with food took a significant turn following her myositis diagnosis. Since then, she has adopted an anti-inflammatory diet focused on healing her body. Her meals now prominently feature cruciferous vegetables such as broccoli, cauliflower, and Brussels sprouts. She also includes healthy fats like ghee and cold-pressed oils, along with anti-inflammatory ingredients such as turmeric, celery, and acai berries.
The actress is quite particular about her dietary restrictions. She has completely eliminated gluten from her meals and avoids certain otherwise nutritious foods, including spinach and kale, which do not suit her body. This disciplined approach to nutrition reflects her commitment to mindful eating and self-care, influencing many of her followers to consider the connection between food and overall well-being.
