T. Harish Rao, a prominent leader of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), has publicly criticized the state government regarding the postponed launch of medical services at the Telangana Institute of Medical Sciences (TIMS) in Sanathnagar. Rao’s comments come after Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy pledged during his campaign for the Jubilee Hills bypoll on October 23 that the hospital would be operational within a month.

In a statement, Harish Rao expressed frustration, stating, “That time is now over. Will they start it today or will they announce another date like usual?” His remarks highlight what he perceives as a pattern of unfulfilled promises by the government regarding the hospital’s opening.

Rao further accused the Chief Minister of failing to take decisive action over the past two years, claiming that the government has repeatedly changed deadlines for the TIMS hospitals. “They have been doing nothing except changing the dates and deadlines for the opening of TIMS hospitals,” he stated. He emphasized that the leadership appears more focused on other priorities, such as selling government land, rather than addressing critical public health needs.

The BRS leader highlighted concerns about the slow progress on construction at TIMS facilities not only in Sanathnagar but also in Alwal and LB Nagar. He described the government’s inaction as “criminal negligence,” asserting that the delay poses a risk to public health.

Rao accused Revanth Reddy of deliberately stalling the completion of the TIMS hospitals to undermine the reputation of his predecessor, K. Chandrashekar Rao (KCR). He stated, “The Revanth Reddy government has been playing with the lives of people for two years without completing the work,” reflecting the urgency and frustration felt by many residents who are awaiting improved healthcare services in the region.

The ongoing delay in launching medical services at TIMS has raised significant concerns among the public and political figures alike, as the demand for accessible healthcare continues to grow. As the situation unfolds, it remains to be seen how the government will respond to these criticisms and when the promised medical services will finally be made available to the community.
