Amit Shah Launches Health Initiatives in Karnal District

Union Home Minister Amit Shah laid the foundation stones for two significant healthcare projects in the Karnal district on March 15, 2024. The ceremonies took place in Kurukshetra, with a parallel event held at the Karnal Mini-Secretariat, where local officials participated in the symbolic laying of these important projects.
At the event, Karnal MLA Jagmohan Anand laid the foundation stone for a 50-bed critical care unit at the Kalpana Chawla Government Medical College (KCGMC). This facility, estimated to cost around ₹20.74 crore, will be equipped with modern healthcare technology to provide advanced treatment options for patients. Anand expressed gratitude towards Amit Shah and Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, stating, “This critical care facility is a major gift for the people of Karnal and reflects the government’s commitment to strengthening healthcare services.”
In addition, Assandh MLA Yogender Rana symbolically laid the foundation stone for a 100-bed hospital in Assandh. The construction of this hospital is estimated to cost ₹76.20 crore and aims to serve the residents of Assandh, which is centrally located approximately 45 kilometers from Karnal, Kaithal, Jind, and Panipat. Rana emphasized the project’s significance, stating, “This project will ensure quality healthcare access for thousands of people in the Assandh constituency,” and thanked both Amit Shah and Chief Minister Saini on behalf of the local community.
The initiatives represent a substantial investment in the healthcare infrastructure of Karnal district, with a combined budget of nearly ₹100 crore. These developments are expected to enhance access to critical healthcare services for the local population, improving overall health outcomes in the region.
The government’s commitment to expanding healthcare services underscores the importance of addressing the growing health needs of the community, particularly in central Haryana. With these new facilities, residents can look forward to improved medical care and advanced treatment options closer to home.
