Advanced Health Check-Up Centre Opens at Tirunelveli Medical College

A new advanced master health check-up centre has been inaugurated at the Tirunelveli Government Medical College and Hospital (TGMCH), representing a significant enhancement in healthcare services for the community. Established at a cost of ₹5 crore, the facility aims to provide comprehensive health check-ups through four distinct packages tailored to a variety of financial needs.
Located within an existing structure at TGMCH, the centre has undergone substantial upgrades, featuring improved amenities such as a waiting hall and designated ultrasound facilities for men and women. The management of the centre will be overseen by a nodal officer, with support from the hospital’s existing staff to ensure efficient operation.
Comprehensive Packages to Meet Diverse Needs
The health check-up centre offers four different packages: gold, diamond, platinum, and platinum plus, each designed to address various health assessment needs. The gold package, priced at ₹1,000 per person, includes essential tests such as blood sugar (FBS and PPBS), urea, creatinine, uric acid, complete haemogram, ESR, urine analysis, lip profile test, liver function test, ECG, blood grouping and typing, digital chest X-ray, USG abdomen, and pap smear.
For those seeking more extensive evaluations, the diamond package is available at ₹2,000. This option includes all the tests from the gold package, plus additional services like an echo cardiogram, PSA, thyroid profile tests, and HbA1c. The platinum package, costing ₹3,000, further expands on these offerings with a digital mammogram, DEXA scan, and bone profile tests included.
Finally, the platinum plus package, priced at ₹4,000, encompasses everything from the platinum package along with a comprehensive eye check-up, treadmill test, and lung function tests, providing a thorough health assessment for individuals.
Focus on Preventive Health Care
Revathy Balan, Dean of TGMCH, expressed enthusiasm about the new facility, stating that the introduction of the master health check-up centre aims to make preventive health services more affordable and accessible to the public. This initiative is part of a broader effort to enhance community health, encouraging individuals to prioritize regular health assessments.
With these new offerings, TGMCH is poised to become a vital resource for health check-ups in the region, catering to the diverse needs of the population and emphasizing the importance of preventive care.
