Actress Surbhi Chandna, known for her role as Anika in the popular television series Ishqbaaz, has shared a scathing review of the recently released film, Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari. The film, starring Varun Dhawan and Janhvi Kapoor, premiered in theatres on October 2 and has received a mixed response from audiences.

Chandna, accompanied by her husband Karan Sharma, attended a screening of the film and expressed her dissatisfaction through a candid Instagram video. During the movie’s intermission, she remarked, “The only good part of the film is this samosa,” while gesturing towards a plate of snacks. Their critical commentary continued, with Chandna humorously blaming Sharma for bringing her to the screening, stating, “Blaming you for dragging me into this s**t.”

In another video shared on social media, Sharma filmed Kapoor’s character, prompting Chandna to exclaim, “Arey… stop, stop! Somebody stop this film right now.” Sharma then dubbed the film “Bollywood’s new weapon of mass destruction,” to which Chandna added, “We survived.” Their posts reflect a strong disappointment with the film’s content, highlighting the couple’s shared experience.

Box Office Performance Struggles

On its opening day, Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari earned ₹9.25 crore, a figure that trade experts deemed underwhelming given the movie’s release on a national holiday.

The film faced significant competition from other releases, notably the pan-India film Kantara, which also debuted on the same day, affecting ticket sales.

As the days progressed, the film’s earnings saw a drastic decline, with the total dropping to ₹5.5 crore on its first Friday. To date, Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari has accumulated a total of ₹14.75 crore at the box office.

Despite the star power of its cast and the holiday release, the film’s performance highlights the challenges it faces in a competitive market. As audience reactions continue to roll in, it remains to be seen how Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari will fare in the coming weeks.

With Chandna’s outspoken critique, the film finds itself under additional scrutiny, stirring conversations among viewers about its quality and appeal.
